Talengene Dr Ram Raghvan Managing Director

An electronics engineer by qualification with an MS in Robotics and control, Ram started his career in India as an R&D engineer before moving into the sales and service functions. He was managing the business in a couple of countries for a pharmaceutical company before moving to the UK. He completed his MBA specialising in business strategy. Ram specialises in developing and customising measurement tools to profile people, performance and processes. Ram combines cutting edge experience with state of the art research. He has developed a unique approach that combines case based analysis, gaming and psychometrics and neurology to profile organisations, business units and individual candidates. The approach which he developed from his research for his PhD provides an objective means of understanding a business from the 6 or 7 key strategic perspectives. It entails the correlation of knowledge, requisite skills, traits and behaviours. Ram has elected to use the metaphor of "genetic frameworks" to provide an innovative platform for explaining the approach. He is currently authoring two books on human capital measurement & employee engagement.

John Battye - Director Reserch and Development

John describes himself as a "solutioneer".In December 1979, CSFB had headhunted John (as head of Operations & Systems) to devise and implement a solution for them. They needed to develop a real-time computer system capable of supporting up to 200 dealers. On 20 October 1980, the board of CSFB approved the capital expenditure of £3 million to build, develop and implement the system. The fully integrated system went live on 31 May 1982 - on time, to specification and within budget. His team had transformed banking in the UK. CSFB exploited the system to generate a £30 million profit within 9 months and the era of the £1 million bonus was born. John was promoted to Director. From 1983 until 1991 he was headhunted by 4 banks with the same pattern of events. John joins, recruits a team that delivers a system that improves performance. The HQ "invites" him to relocate to the USA. John declines. The cycle repeats itself 4 times. Prior to accepting any senior position with a US Bank (e.g. BTI, CitiCorp, SPMB) John told them that he would NOT accept the position if he would be expected to relocate to the USA. Each time he was assured that he would not be required to relocate and each time he was put under pressure to relocate or resign. The same expedient scenario was "played out" in terms of NPV and slick derivative accounting systems. John quit banking in 1991.He devised and developed the Theta model for building teams in 1980. From 1985 he progressively developed the Theta model into a fully integrated, pattern based, behavioural cube model. The approach is sui generis with 4 tangible benefits for users: accuracy, reliability, improved performance and audit trails.

Chris Battye - Director Operations

Chris Battye has been involved directly or indirectly with Parallax since its inception in 1992. He has first hand knowledge and understanding of the Parallax Cube, the Parallax Approach to behaviour profiling and the Internet technology that delivers and supports the business. He rebuilt the Parallax computer system to facilitate customisation of reports (e.g. Competency Frameworks). Uniquely in the management team, he fully understands both the technology of the cube model and the computer system that delivers the profiles to the end users. Chris gained a BA in 2000 and an MSc in 2002 from Loughborough University. His dissertation for his Masters degree was on a project involving Parallax and Rolls Royce. He also served as a director for a leading Executive Search firm from 2004 until 2006. Chris spends his time equally between the profiling business and any related consultancy assignments. Chris has the primary responsibility for supporting and developing all aspects of the business that involve Behavioural Profiling.
